Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a technology designed for sharing headlines and other Web content. Think of it as a distributable "What's New" for your site. The TVSA website now provides an RSS feed in order help distribute the latest news for our website. There are several methods to use this technology to your advantage.

The first is to use an RSS compatible web browser. Browsers from Netscape or Mozilla all support this technology. If you are using an RSS compatible browser, you will see an RSS icon in the lower right-hand corner of your browser. Simpy click on this icon to add the RSS feed from TVSA to your browser bookmarks. The bookmarks will be automatically updated any time anything changes on the news page of the TVSA website.

There is another excellent way that this technology can be used. If your home page allows for manual addition of RSS feeds (most popular sites do) such as Yahoo!®, the you can use this technology as well. We will see how to add the TVSA feed to a Yahoo!® home page.

• On your Yahoo!® home page select the Add Content link near the top of the page.
• On the next page, click the Add RSS by URL link next to the Find button.
• Now enter the URL to the TVSA RSS feed and click the Add button. The RSS URL to be entered is http://www.tvsa.org/rssnews.php.
• You should now be shown a summary page of the TVSA RSS news feed. It should look similar to the example on this page. Press the Add button again to complete the addition.
• Go to your Yahoo!® home page to see the latest TVSA news right on your page!
