Sam Yorke, a lifelong TVSA athlete, referee and TOPS volunteer was recently diagnosed with leukemia. To cure him, he will need a blood stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, no one in the Yorke family is a full match, so his doctors are searching the NMDP registry for an unrelated donor. A simple cheek swab is all it takes to see if you are a match for Sam or any of the thousands of patients searching. Join by clicking on the link https://my.nmdp.org/summitwithsam or simply text SUMMITWITHSAM to 61474. Fill out the form and have a swab kit mailed to you at no charge. Donors must be between 18-40 years old, generally healthy and willing to donate to any patient.
If you are unable to join and still want to help, we need to find places to table and get people to swab. You can contact our NMDP rep, Joyce Valdez at 951-847-1220 or [email protected] for any questions. Thank you!
